2020 is a big year! While the Olympics have been delayed, it’s still a presidential election year, AND it’s the centennial anniversary of when women were granted the right to vote in the United States. Here’s some of the big ways women have made a difference in the past century!

In 1922, we had one female senator, and her appointment lasted one day. It was 1932 before the first woman was elected to the U.S. Senate.

Today, we have 26 women serving as Senators, including 4 women of color.

Women are also much more likely to pursue higher levels of education.

From 1970 to 2018, the proportion of women ages 25 to 64 in the labor force who held a college degree quadrupled. The proportion of men with a college degree about doubled during that time.
