Executive Director Ryan O’Rourke Honored by AFA
The Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors has named Ryan O’Rourke as one of its 2024 Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Award winners.
AFA presents the Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Awards annually to no more than five individuals who have exhibited outstanding achievements in service to the fraternity/sorority industry.
About Ryan + His Accomplishments
Ryan began working professionally with fraternities and sororities in 2005, and he became AFLV’s second-ever Executive Director 2016. During his tenure, AFLV’s educational experiences have reached over 35,000 fraternity/sorority members from over 300 campuses and organizations across the US and Canada.
Under Ryan's leadership, students are front and center in vital conversations surrounding how we can rethink fraternity/sorority life. His constant vigilance for uplifting student voices as the critical ingredient for sustainable change has kept AFLV relevant in the ever-changing landscape of higher education.
Ryan also expanded, recruited, and retained the incredible Team AFLV made up of volunteers who help make our change-enabling experiences possible.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida (#ChargeOn) and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Florida Atlanta University. Above all else, Ryan is a wonderful father to his son, Kellan.
